The "quit the job" one is the most worrisome to me. Very cool vid.
there is this one travel guy who always like you will get pickpockedted if you dont this, you stuff will get stolen out of your hotel if you don't do this, I swear its every one of his videos. Yes stuff happens people lose there walets to theives and stuff to thieves, but his entiire channel is built on fear, and then selling you the stuff he suposedly uses to keep from being pickpocketed and stuff taken out of his hotel room that is all his channel is, scare you buy my stuff and that is wrong.
I have seen some influencers in action while traveling and some are so fake and so set up, it is laughable. They make it look as though they have done stuff that they have not. I enjoy authentic content. Thank you for being you all these years. 😊
You’ve been to Minas Gerais! How cool! I’m from there! It felt good to see it on the clip!
Best food in the country! Hahahaha and that’s not a lie, I promise! 😂

Biggest Lies:
-Everybody looking at things and over exaggerating for the camera like they’ve never seen a plate of food, a church, or a natural wonder before.
-If you don’t do this, you’re missing out. That’s a load of crap.
-Some people can do this because they had wealthy jobs prior. Not everybody is loaded.
You can not pay off a credit card with another credit card you can only pay off with a bank card
I got my best travel advice in the army : pack & travel lightly.
If I may ask, how many days off do you get yearly?
never trust a travel influencer. their "opinions and reviews" are typically paid for. It's great to see what is available to you, but make your own decisions.
The influencer line that makes me roll my eyes: "Here's what no one is saying…" or some form of that.
Love the hidden gem comment. So true. So sad.
I dunno, Mark, I HAVE gone to some towns in France and Italy where it literally was us and the locals and almost no one spoke English. Hidden gems? Yes, indeed. It absolutely is a thing. (And I won't mention those places, because that is part of how they are "hidden.")
Not so much a travel hack but a life lesson…. Live where you vacation.
It can be a lot of work to pull this off but once you're there remind yourself that you once traveled halfway around the world to see what is now your daily commute.
Keep that perspective even on tough days and never stop finding new places to live and work.
My pet peeve is, "instead of _____, go to _____" when while yes, some places are crowded they are in fact one of a kind and far better use of your time and money.
10 things you must do or not do! #1 dont post a video telling the world what to do when you really just arrived and have no idea
The "must" see or do is often highly overrated because all the instagrammers and tictockers arrive in numbers and make it unpleasant. Paris is filled with food that has queues of 18-30 year old women seeking a 1 minute camera experience but walk past endless alternatives where locals buy for far less. No self respective local pays €25 euro for a hot chocolate
We are seasoned travelers to Italy. Not tourists per se . Your videos are mainly spot on and so true . We’ve been to Rome 38 times so far and agree with you about traveling. Things like attire, eating rules etc. I cringe when I see Americans dress like they are home hanging out with friends. We always respect customs and that makes a trip complete.
Such a realistic and good video. This is why I love your channel!
I hate all travel influencers who talk about Europe as if it's one country.
Anything that has a top10 especialy if it is a major place
Great subject, as a local I follow plenty about Amsterdam, sadly you seldom see local guides.
They seem to follow eachother and create whole new naratives (stroopwafels the hight of your visit?).
and not to mention the GLOBAL environmental disaster they are co-responsible for!
2:08 Reminds of that meme of Mass Effect where Commander Shepard says all the shops are their favorite on the Citadel: ‘Hey I’m random influencer, this is my favorite hotel in xyz country!’
I never use my credit card, unless I'm able to pay the bill immediately. I usually just pay more than 50% of the trip with the card, so I get travel insurance. If people need to spend ages paying off the debt after purchasing a trip, it means they can't afford to travel in the first place, before saving up the funds. I remember som brits in Thailand, who was begging for money on the streets to have food. Like a British man told them: If you need to beg others for money, then you should have stay at home and worked for a year first!
As someone from Southeast Asia, I am disgusted when so-called influencers came to Malaysia or Indonesia and call our country cheap to visit. Like 'amazing $2 food' or '$15 train ticket'.
Guess what, it is cheap for someone earning in Dollars and Euros but not in local currency. For a local in Kuala Lumpur, RM6000 is considered as high-income, which is $1500. Similar income as a fry cook in McDonalds in USA. McDonalds workers in Malaysia earn 1/3 of that. Why call our country cheap?
so many travel influencers sound like they've never been there. I'm 82 and done traveling internationally. Seen it all, been there, travel has gotten to be such a hassle now. The only place I continue to go is Jamaica.
These travel "influencers" remind me of some Phoenix area real estate YouTubers.
"I've been using (product) for years, and I'm so happy they reach out to me and offered sponsored segment"
No they haven't. And you'll never see the product again on their channel after this video.
I’ve been watching your videos for years. Whenever I’m planning a trip to a new city, your channel is one of my first stops. Until today, I had no idea you were a teacher and that YouTube wasn’t your full-time job.
I retired from teaching on March 1 after 27 years in the classroom, and I’m just beginning to share my own travels and adventures through videos on YouTube. I wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration and a wealth of knowledge—not only to your YouTube audience, but also to the students whose lives you’ve impacted over the years.
Wishing you all the best, and thank you for everything you’ve shared.
I’ve watched some of your videos for years and just wanted to say thanks
Influencers have one goal : influence you. They are nothing more than salespeople paid by companies to sell you a dream.
